Legal and Trust analysis updates

On the legal and trust front, the last few months have seen the creation of some of the main legal building blocks that will be used to ensure the trustworthiness and usefulness of STORK 2.0's outputs. This includes the creation of an updated Quality Authentication Assurance Framework, which will now also allow the quality of external attributes and attribute providers to be assessed. Moreover, an accessible and easy to understand privacy FAQ was created, which answers some of the main questions about what STORK 2.0 does and doesn't do, and how we mitigate the most important privacy concerns. Finally, the basic groundwork has been laid for a legal agreement (in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding) that outlines the key obligations that the various participants in the STORK2.0 infrastructure undertake to respect towards each other.

Common specifications and building blocks updates

Based on the Functional Design, allowing transactions multiple borders, the Technical Design and Interface Specifications have been elaborated and approved by the consortium. Development has started and it is foreseen that a first version of the common software will be delivered by the start of October. Moreover, support for creation and validation of digital signatures will be included in the common software; the selection of existing standard, open source software has also started.

eID as a service offering

Aiming to meet the challenge of increased analysis for potential standards for STORK 2.0 at European and international level, a questionnaire asking targeted questions regarding standards and accreditation processes has been prepared as they may be applied to STORK 2.0. This exercise will feed in to continued research and analysis.
